Our Trio isn’t strictly Jazz … The repertoire is a smooth blend of Jazz/Soul and contemporary classics….. Featuring songs from the likes of Etta James, Nina Simone, K.D. Lang, Diana Krall, Ray Charles…. to Carol King, James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, Chris Isaak, Bonnie Raitt and a host of other great artists blending Jazz, Swing, Blues, Soul and contemporary styles to suit all occasions.

Vicky Turner

Vicky’s voice has been described as soulful, powerful and distinctive and spans a wide range of music styles. She sites her inspirations from favourite songstresses Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Renee Geyer, K.D. Lang, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt and the best R & B/Soul & Blues artists. Vicky has performed as a professional singer for over 20 years, working in original and cover bands all over Sydney and singing at corporate functions for companies such as Coca Cola, 3M, Jamena & more

Phil Marks – Piano/ Backing vocals

Phil is an accomplished Jazz pianist who has been playing professionally for 20 plus years with various duos, trios, & small ensembles. Phil began his professional music career in 1983 while completing his Ph.D in Psychology. He has played in many combos with some of Sydney’s top jazz musicians. Phil also enjoys teaching and has developed a unique approach to teaching jazz improvisation and composition.

David Pudney – Double and Electric Bass

David is one of the most sought after double bass players in the Australian jazz scene, and has been playing for just over 35 years. His versatility and extraordinary knowledge of jazz tunes and traditions has meant he has played with a wide variety of Australian jazz artists.

He is particularly known for his work with two of Australia’s best known and respected jazz musicians – Don Burrows and James Morrison. He has toured Australia and Asia many times with these two artists. His work with the Sydney All Stars Big Band has once again taken him all over Australia and overseas with the popular show “Frank, A Life in Song” a tribute to Frank Sinatra with the Australian vocalist, Tom Burlinson. Since 2008 he has regularly toured and recorded with the outstanding Australian horn player Adrian Cunningham, who is now making his name in New York.

David is on staff at Avondale College, a tertiary college, New South Wales, Australia since 2007 teaching double bass and electric bass,keyboard skills and improvisation.He also lectures at Wesley Institute,Sydney in keyboard skills,piano and bass and at the Sydney conservatorium
